Let visitors book appointments in the chat
An AI chat agent that books appointments in the conversation — checks real availability and confirms the booking without sending visitors to a separate scheduling page.
TL;DR
Dialogent's AI chat agent books appointments inside the conversation: it answers pre-booking questions from your own content, checks live availability in Square Bookings, and creates the booking — no separate scheduling page. Visitors can also reschedule or cancel in chat, and both sides get confirmation emails. Setup is one script tag.
Dialogent connects your agent to Square Bookings so a website visitor can ask about availability and book — right in the chat, in the same conversation. Every extra click between "I'm interested" and "I'm booked" loses people; chat-to-book removes those clicks entirely.
How does booking in the chat actually work?
The agent has tools to list your services, check real availability, and create the booking in Square. The visitor picks a time in the conversation; the agent confirms it with a booking card, emails the visitor a confirmation, and alerts your team. No tab-switching, no lost momentum — and the visitor can come back later to reschedule or cancel, also in chat.
Which businesses benefit most from chat booking?
If your revenue depends on booked time — clinics, salons, med-spas, home services, studios — the agent acts as an always-on receptionist. It answers the questions that come before a booking ("do you take walk-ins?", "how much is a first visit?") from your knowledge base, then books the slot while intent is highest.
What does the agent do in a booking conversation?
- Answers pre-booking questions grounded in your content.
- Checks live availability through your connected Square account.
- Creates the booking and confirms it in the conversation and by email.
- Handles reschedules and cancellations for returning visitors.
- Mirrors it all onto your Google Calendar when the calendar integration is connected — created, moved, and removed automatically.
- Captures the contact along the way, so it doubles as lead capture.

Frequently asked questions
Which booking systems does Dialogent support?
Square Bookings is the built-in scheduling backend, and Booking requests (email) covers businesses without one. Bookings made in chat can also be mirrored onto your Google Calendar with the built-in calendar integration — events are created, moved, and removed as visitors book, reschedule, or cancel. Calendly-style flows and Outlook are on the roadmap but not yet available.
Can visitors reschedule or cancel a booking in the chat?
Yes. A visitor identifies themselves with the email or phone number they booked with, and the agent can look up, reschedule, or cancel their booking in the same conversation. Change notices are emailed to the visitor and to workspace admins.
Does the visitor get a booking confirmation?
Yes. When a booking is created in chat, the visitor receives a confirmation email (when they've left an email address) with the time shown in the business location's timezone, and workspace admins get a booking alert.
What does my Square account need for in-chat booking?
A Square account with Square Appointments, services set up as bookable appointment services, and at least one bookable team member. Note that creating bookings through the API requires a paid Square Appointments plan — on the free plan the agent can show services and availability but the final booking step fails.
